Audition: "Kingsford Charcoal" @ Craig Colvin Casting. This audition went well, but it was so, so symbolic of my life right now it wasn’t even funny.

Audition: "Fox Promo" @ Ross Lacy Casting. This one was fun. I got slapped on the ass by a woman......twice. Then I got to slap her on the ass. I'm not a pro at getting slapped by women, although it has happened. I prefer it in a fun, light audition situation in which the woman is not upset with me.

Audition: "Spiderman 3" @ Francine Maisler Casting. This role is one scene as a bar manager. I think I'm right for the part; maybe a little young. I felt the audition went really well. I had a couple of questions about the scene and we put it on tape two different ways. I did what I wanted and felt really great about the outcome.

I thanked them and told them how glad I was to get into a casting office of that stature. They said it was great to meet me and now they can get me in for more things in the future.

Ironically, when I went to pick up the material for the audition my agent, Erin, asked if I even wanted to go in on it. Yeah, I love that, she doesn't just assume that I would read for just one scene in a film.......even "Spiderman 3". Of course "I" never considered "not" going in, BUT that reminds me that she reps actors who wouldn't even consider reading for such a role......even in a film such as "Spiderman 3". I can't wait to make some real money for them.

Audition: "Visa" @ Deborah Kurtz Casting. This goes well and I think I fit the profile........but what do I know? Not much.

I stopped by to see all of my agents today - commerial and theatrical. I also re-signed with KSA for another 3 years. Jenny the head of the print department suggested I get a zed card made up. I don’t go out for print very often, but I also have never given them the proper tools to submit me. So I don’t complain, but funny enough I have been placed on avail a few times in the last year. She suggested I come in for a meeting to look over all of my photos and get suggestions of who I should shoot with. Okay, cool. I guess she thinks I can actually book work in the print world, I’ll take her word for it. Thanks Jenny and Rose for even trying to get me out with the wack-ass tools I’ve given you over the years. Sorry.

Callback: "Washington Mutual" @ Alyson Horn Casting. This is a huge 10-spot campaign. I'm a little surprised I got a callback, but I guess I fit the profile of what they are looking for. Wow, a 10-spot campaign? I could buy a house/condo.......maybe. They even provided real "Washington Mutual" shirts for the callback. The copy kept changing while I was waiting and even still while I was auditioning. I did my best to not let that throw me too much. I think I did pretty well.

Audition: "Liqua Feed" @ Mick Dowd Casting. Simple, just spraying a water hose while smiling; even I can do that.

Audition: "Dharini" @ Tineka Becker Casting. This is for an AFI thesis film. The character is a 40 year-old high school science teacher. Tineka is an associate @ Burrows/Boland Casting. ....hmmmm another 40 year-old character; there must something to that. It goes well.

Tonight my youngest brother Todd and his son arrived from Virginia Beach, VA to attend a motorcycle race in Anaheim. It was sooooo great to see them.......you have no idea.

They flew into Santa Ana because it was cheaper so they had a really long day. My 7 year old nephew thought my living quarters were just hilarious. I mean he started snickering and laughing before he even got inside my studio apartment.

In Virginia, he lives in a normal 4 bedroom home with a two-car garage on a nice lot. He has his own room. So do I, but that's all I have. LOL!

EXT/INT. Stephon’s place – 11:55pm

Stephon, Todd and my nephew are entering my building and heading up to the 2nd floor studio apartment. My nephew is looking around amazed, amused and already snickering. As we enter………

STEPHON: What's so funny?

NEPHEW: (He looks at his dad for approval before he completely clowns me). Is this where you live?

STEPHON: Yeah, what is so funny about that?

NEPHEW: (Laughing) Is that your bed?

STEPHON: YES! That is my bed.

NEPHEW: Sydney's bed is bigger than yours. (Sydney is the little sister of one of his friends.)

STEPHON: (I'm thinking to myself Sydney is 2, she cannot possibly have a bed larger than my full size. Can she?) Sydney's bed is not bigger than mine.

NEPHEW: She has more pillows.

STEPHON: Whatever! Punk! Go to sleep. Aren't you supposed to be jet lagged or something.

NEPHEW: LOL!

STEPHON: (to his dad) Yo, this kid did a full day in school, took a cross-country flight and he has enough energy to clown me?

TODD: That's your nephew.

The were in town for about 32 hours and the timing was really bad.

Audition: "Bremer Bank" @ Craig Colvin Casting. Ahh….it goes ok. I don’t think I really “got it”.

Audition: "According to Jim" @ Zane/Pillsbury Casting. I went on tape for producers and felt really good about it. Gayle Pillsbury is really, really cool and a pleasure to read for. It would be nice to book something........and soon.

Tonight I get the call that I’ve been officially released from the “McDonald’s” avail. No big surprise there. The role was an almost haunting parallel to what I am going through in my life right now.

Audition: "The Learning Channel" @ Melissa Martin Casting. I haven't been to this office in a while. The read goes great.

Audition: "Washington Mutual" @ Alyson Horn Casting. Lots and lots of dialogue, I did pretty good with it. They were patient with me and gave me a couple of tries.

After the audition I was interviewed for a research study by a UCLA graduate student. It was about how working actors construct their sense of being within their professional settings. It was anonymous so I won't be held accountable for what I said. That’s probably a good thing because my head was spinning the whole time.

Callback/Avail: "McDonald's" @ Ross Lacy Casting. I still haven't booked in years at this office, but my callback ratio has improved somewhat. I guess that's a good start. The callback goes really well, they kept me and my partner in the room for a good while. I assume they saw something they like in her, me or us. I would love to book this spot; it's been a while sense I've done a fast-food commercial. My agent informs me later to say that I made it to the next round and am still on avail. Cool!

Audition: "Texaco" @ TLC/Booth Casting. This one goes well and I think I'm right for it.

Audition/Producers: "House" @ Amy Lippens Casting. I felt good about this one; I did what I set out to do.

Audition: "Safeway" @ Sheila Manning Casting.

Audition/Producers: "Courting Alex" @ Jill Anthony & Associates. My life is getting in the way of…….my life. So much that, for the first time I missed a producer session. Yeah, I entered "2:40pm" instead of "2:15pm" into my schedule. I'm going crazy - literally.

I got to the office, signed in…….waited…..and waited. Finally, right as I was re-checking the time on my voicemail the assistant came to tell me that the associate, Beth Soike, was on the phone and wanted to talk to me. She said she was sorry but they wouldn't be able to see me. The session had ended and the producers were gone. That is when I realized I had the wrong time. I apologized profusely and she seemed to be okay with it. I felt horrible and so irresponsible. I have got to get things back on track or I'm going to lose my mind. Not good.

I especially hated missing this because I was in this same casting office last week for a series regular on a pilot and was really glad to get back in so soon. Also, I saw a couple of friends on the sign-in sheet that I would have loved to possibly work with, Mike McGill and Bruno Amato. I later found out that Bruno booked one of the roles. Go Bruno!!

Audition: "OSH Hardware" @ Alyson Horn Casting. This goes well.

Audition: "The Shield" @ FMW Casting. This was a three page scene as a gay character having a little "war of words" with one of the regular cops on the show. It went well and I think I'm very right for it. Hopefully, I'll get a callback.

Audition: "Prudential" @ Sheila Manning Casting. This audition was a lot of fun. I played a 40-year old father with a wife and two kids. WHAT!!! Yeah, 40! Oh well; I guess Sheila has quite an imagination...cool. My family was incredible, we had the best time.

JANUARY 16th '06*Audition: "McDonald's" @ Ross Lacy Casting.

Wow, pilot season has officially begun for me. I don’t usually get any pilot auditions this early in the season, but my agent called with one today. Hopefully, between this and my commercial activity it will be a busy Spring. I really wanna keep myself busy and then leave LA for a vacation in June. I’m thinking of going to Europe to visit my older brother and see my new niece. Gotta make some cheese first though!!

Audition/Pilot: “Sex, Money, Love & Politics” @ Jill Anthony & Associates.

Audition: “Sprint” @ Ross Lacy. This was mostly improv and my partner was great. Actually, he looked just like my friend Alan Heitz and has the same comic sensibilities; they look and act JUST alike. I also ran into Kevin Christy at the audition. I’ve worked with Kevin twice in the past, most recently on “Love, Inc.”. We both currently have “IBM” spots running. He’s like on a first name basis with the “IBM” people; he’s appeared in numerous spots for them. I hope both of our spots keep running.

Today would have been the 46-year anniversary of my parent’s marriage – wow. That’s a long time. I don’t know if that’ll happen for me, I’m getting a late start. Maybe if I live until I’m 140.

Callback: “K-mart” @ Joe Blake Casting. I felt this went well. I have worked with the director, Brian Aldrich, twice in the past, but I don’t think he remembered me. I took his direction and did what he asked me to do……I think.
