I got the news this morning that I’ve been released from the Sprint avail.  Ugh!  I wanted that one…or something, but instead it’s on to the next one.

Audition: “The Blank Theatre Young Playwrights Festival” @ Cara Chute Casting.  For this audition I had to prepare a one-minute monologue.  Ugh!  Not good, monologues, but I really wanted to be a part of this project so I jumped in. 

I was absolutely horrible in the room, I just completely fell apart.  I was so far out of my wheelhouse it wasn’t even funny.  I left feeling quite dejected over my performance. At the same time though, it gave me much appreciation for the trained, stage actor.  Bad, bad bad…

Still no news on Sprint.  They are supposed to have made the choices by the end of the day, but that came and went with no news.  I’ll take that as a good sign.

Callback: “Sprint” @ Francene Selkirk Casting. On avail.  I had no idea this was a callback until I got in the room.  I was definitely quite a bit older than most of the other people I saw there, but I had to put that out of my mind and give them what “I” had in store.  It went great I thought!  They informed us that it will, most likely, book over the weekend and that we should make sure we are very reachable.  Just before I arrived back at home I got word that I had been placed on avail!  YAY!

Audition: “High Level Comic Book Film” @ Tamara Hunter Casting.  I’m think I’m so, incredibly perfect for this role that I just have to book it. Right? The audition went well.  My job is done.  It shoots in a few days so I’ll know something…or nothing really quick.

Audition: “Dunkin’ Donuts” @ Good People Casting.  This went well, it was pretty simple, just an interview type situation.  There was one guy that seemed to be really struggling in the interview part, but he might’ve been just being really natural, less “actory” and more “real people” like.

Tonight I participated in another table read.  This time for writer Chris Innacone at the New York Film Academy.  Chris was a winner of the Hour Long Spec Category of The 2015 Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Contest. Funny enough, I’m not usually able to follow Sci-Fi stuff all that well, but I was totally invested in the piece that Chris wrote.  As an actor, it’s great to get involved with writers at this early stage in their careers.

Audition: “Comcast/Xfinity” @ Francene Selkirk Casting.  I think this is the type of commercial I’m perfect for, therefore I WILL, somehow, someway get a callback…maybe.

Tonight I participated in a table read for writer Ty Freer at the New York Film Academy.  Ty was a winner of the Half-Hour Pilot Category of The 2015 Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Contest.  I was honored to be included by NYFA teacher, Crickett Rumley, who cast the actors for the read.  It was 36 pages of fun!  We had a blast!  It was a great time and hopefully helpful to Ty as a writer with the feedback session.

Audition: “The Advocate” @ UDK Casting.  Just a few days ago I was thinking that it didn’t feel so much like pilot season for me.  Then this pops up; a pilot audition!

I hadn’t been to this office in a good while and I’m glad to be here today!  The cast a ton of TV and film projects.  The audition goes well I think and I’m perfect for it.  It shoots in Vancouver…wouldn’t that be nice?

Audition: “Lift Me Up” @ Scott David Casting.  After a long 2 weeks without an audition this appointment shows its face.  I’m so thankful for this office.  It seems that many of my TV/Film auditions over the past year have been here.  On the one hand, it’s great!  On the other hand I haven’t booked any of them.  The great thing is that they obviously still believe I “can” book for them.

The audition went well and I think I’m right for the character.  One day, hopefully, I’ll book another job.  When does one know when they’ve already booked their last job…I hope I haven’t.
