Yay!  Today I was offered a role in the low-budget indie entitled “DUDE”.  The director is Olivia Milch, the daughter of NYPD Blue & Deadwood creator/producer/writer, David Milch.  Oh yeah, I accepted the offer!

Audition: “Criminal Minds” @ Scott David Casting.  I’ve been in for this show countless times over the past two seasons and I think this was the best audition I’ve ever had there…even better than the time I booked a role on the show in the first season.

Audition: “Invega Trinza” @ Craig Colving Casting.  This was incredibly simple and I think I showed well.  I used to go in for this office quite frequently and I’m glad to get back in there!

Oh yeah, yesterday I was pinned for the potential low-budget film offer from last week.  One more step in the right direction!

Callback: “Auto Zone” @ Francene Selkirk Casting.

This morning I received an email from my theatrical agency for a potential offer for a role in a low-budget feature film.  The casting director, Tannis Vallely, is requesting my demo reel to show to the production team.  It’s a smaller role and just one potential day of work, but needless to say I’m completely thrilled on countless levels.

I first met Tannis at a CD workshop back in March of 2000 and she has since been nothing but amazingly kind, helpful and supportive of my career.

Audition: “Fresh of the Boat” @ CFB Casting.  This is another audition that came from dropping of photos.  There wasn’t a whole lot of dialogue, but it was fun.  I went for two different roles…hopefully I’ll get one of them.

Shooting: “Walmart” @ Caviar.  Day Two.  This spot is with Actor/Comedian Craig Robinson.  He wasn’t on set yesterday, but he’s here today.  Nice guy and fun and funny too.

Shooting: “Walmart” @ Caviar. Great to be on another set!  Plus, evidently there was some mix up and I was given the news that I am also working tomorrow.  Great!  I’m just glad that I don’t have a conflict for tomorrow.  

Most of the time, for me, was spent chatting with the other actors and waiting for my turn to shoot.

Yeah!  This morning, while attending the SAG-AFTRA Wages & Working Condition Meeting I got an email that informed me that I booked the Walmart commercial!  So excited! 

Fitting: “Walmart” @ Caviar.  This fitting didn’t last very long.  The wardrobe department had shopped for me, but not from Walmart.  The client wanted me to only wear clothing from the retailer.  In and out in 5 minutes…and I still get paid.

Callback: “Walmart” @ ASG Casting.  Wow!  This was a great callback.  I left the room feeling really good about it.  Hopefully, I’ll get an avail call later today or tomorrow.

And yes, this evening the news came in that I’ve been placed on avail for Walmart.  Love it!

Table Read:  “The Mysteries of Laura” @ Burbank Studios.  A friend of mine that I met while shooting a commercial years ago, has since become a writer for a network show asked if I’d consider being a part of a table of a script.

It was so much fun!  I met the creator of the show, the entire writing staff and several actors I’d never met before.  Thanks Margaret!

Audition: “Criminal Minds” @ Scott David Casting.  Hmm…I think I “over propped” myself for this one…which also meant that “the work” was lacking.  I didn’t walk away feeling so great on this one.

Audition: “Walmart” @ ASG Casting.  Wow, I really feel like I “nailed” this one.  Simple stuff and DIDN’T push too much.

Audition: Clash of Clans” @ Ross Lacy Casting.  This was a really simple audition, but I left feeling that I, somehow, pushed too hard in the room.  

Audition: “Veep” @ Allison Jones Casting.  This was another audition that I got from directly dropping off my photo at the casting office.  I felt like I did well in the room.  Definitely a show that I should be on.

Audition: “Girlfriend’s Day” @ Barbara McCarthy Casting.  Wow, the ladies in this office are just beyond wonderful and sweet.  They even called me in from dropping off my photo and resume at their office last week.

I think the audition went well and I think just getting a callback on this would be great.

Shooting: “Bubble Gum”.  This was the faith-based shoot I spoke of a few weeks.  It was very different as I hadn’t work with a student filmmaker in a long time.  The director was very much a stand up guy with a very clear mission.

Audition: “Lowe’s” @ Ross Lacy Casting.  Fun time in the room.  I feel so, incredibly fortunate that casting directors like Ross Lacy & Francene Selkirk, etc. call me in so often. I need to make them proud and book something soon.

Audition: “REI” @ Ross Lacy Casting.  This was a fun spot.  I think I made a poor choice of wardrobe and that got me in my head a little, but I think one of the 3 scenarios I performed in went pretty well…that’s better than none!
