Audition: “The Bachelor” Bright/Daniels Casting.  Loved this character and think it went well and very happy to have gotten an appointment for that size of a role.

Audition: “Hyundai” @ RMB Casting.  This was fun and I had a great time in the room with my “wife”.  Hopefully one day, I’ll be fortunate enough to have a great wife in real life!  Hey, that rhymed!

My 10 year-old niece, Nikita, returned from her 3 week holiday vacation in The Philippines.  I thought she would’ve been exhausted after such a long, 14-hour flight, but no, she was raring to go!  She had a great time with her friend and her family and is already planning to visit them in the future.

Audition: “The Grinder” @ McCarthy/Abellaro Casting.  Hmm…I’m not sure how this went.  I had my own ideas about the pre-life of the character before my actual dialogue, but I don’t think it went over too well.  The part was too small to try to explain what was in my head so, of course, I just took the direction from the CD and delivered that as best I could.

This afternoon I picked up my 10 year-old niece, Nikita, from LAX.  She flew in from Washington, DC and was on her way to the Philippines to visit a former schoolmate and her family for the next 3 weeks.  I hadn’t seen her in about 4 years and it was our first time spending time together without her father.  Unfortunately, her father and I aren’t close, but it was great to get to see her even if just for a few hours in between flights.  I must say that he, my brother, is doing a great job of raising her!

Wrap party: “Dude”…somewhere in the lower Hollywood hills, ironically, over looking the very place where I work at night.  This was a bit of a weird experience because I didn’t actually get to film my scene in the movie, I didn’t know or really even recognize anyone from the production. 

At first, I felt like someone who snuck in to just eat the food!  After a while I started talking a woman and then felt a little more like I had a reason to be there, lol!  Before leaving I really wanted to introduce myself to Olivia Milch, the director, but since I didn’t audition I hadn’t met her and wasn’t sure what she looked like.  I explained my dilemma to my new friend and she pointed out exactly who Olivia was. 

After a moment or two, I approached Olivia and she greeted me like an old friend AND knew exactly who I was.  She gave me a gift of a hat with the name of the film on it, DUDE, and assured me that the scene will be rescheduled.  With that I finished my chicken kabob and walked back down the Hollywood Hill…and went to my night job.

Callback: “Toyota” @ Spot Casting.  I was pretty happy with how this one went.  The last take we did might be the one helped the most…we’ll see.

The news comes in that I’ve been released from my avail for “McDonald’s”.  Well, that was quick…NEXT!

Callback: “McDonald’s @ RMB Casting.  Eh, I didn’t feel so great about this one and it’s certainly my own fault.  I heard the explanation clearly, but I just don’t think that I executed it well enough.  Oh well…

The news comes in that I’ve been placed on avail for “McDonald’s”.  Well, I like the sound of that.

Shooting: “Dude” @ Palisades Charter High School.  Here’s an interesting set of circumstances.  My call time was 5pm for an exterior, night shoot.  It’s freezing outside and my uniform is shorts and a short-sleeved shirt as a soccer referee.  On top of that, I haven’t been feeling well for the last 2 days or so.  I thought about it and I figured I had no choice, but to put on my game face.  This is what my job is and I will be paid for my time.

After arriving to set and checking in, I went to my trailer and got into wardrobe with my little ceramic space heater doing its best to heat my tiny room in the trailer.  Fortunately, I brought a blanket from home as well, otherwise I would’ve been REALLY uncomfortable.

Around 6:30pm the 2^nd AD came to my room to tell me that they may not be able to shoot the scene I’m in because of the weather.  An hour later it was confirmed that I had been wrapped…without shooting a single frame of film…or piece of video.  I’m hoping they will reschedule after the New Year.

Callback: “Snapple” @ Dowd/Roman Casting.  I felt that this callback went pretty well and I think I connected with the director…in a good way.  I had a good time with the other actors as well.

Fitting: “Dude” @ Palisades Charter High School.  In and out in 10 minutes!  Gotta love that!  Wardrobe fittings are funny.  I literally met this woman and 30 seconds later I was in a small trailer, the door closed and stripping down to my underwear.  Honestly, it makes me just a little uneasy, lol.

Audition: “Snapple” @ Dowd/Roman Casting.  This is a funny spot and the character is perfect for me.  I think it went well…after the session director worked with me on a few takes.

Audition: “McDonald’s” @ RMB Casting.  Any commercial with kids is a good time for me.  I didn’t have any kids to work with in the room, but just the thought of it makes me smile. 

Audition: “Toyota” @ Spot Casting.  Meh…we’ll see.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and get to the next phase in the process.

Callback “AT&T” @ Cathi Carlton Casting.  This callback was a little bit different than the original call.  In the end I think I did okay, but I think I should’ve “gotten there” faster.  The director worked with me, so hopefully, he saw…something in me, lol!
