Audition: “The Seminar” @ Susie Farris Casting.  Eh, this didn’t go so well.  It wasn’t “bad”, but it wasn’t good either and certainly not great.  I don’t know, it went better in my head, 34 seconds before entering the room.

Callback: “KIA” @ Cathi Carlton Casting.  This callback went well, not as good as the initial audition, but pretty well I think.

Fitting: “Xerox” @ Smuggler Productions.  Yeah!  Being at a fitting is ALWAYS a great thing for me.  The wardrobe person asked me to bring suits, shirts, shoes, ties, etc.  I, pretty much, brought my entire new wardrobe with me.  The wardrobe head couldn’t believe how well my suits looked on me and asked if they had been tailored.  In the end they chose and photographed two of my looks.

While rushing out to get to an early audition in Santa Monica my phone rings.

It’s KMR, my commercial agency.

My first thought was that I’d forgotten to confirm and they were making sure that I was going to be able to make it.  But then I remembered that I was on avail for “Xerox”.

Oh yeah, that.

I let the call go to voicemail…and waited.  I can usually judge what the call is about based on how long it takes for the voicemail to come through…I might be wrong, but it’s a fun game I play.

Okay, it took like 45 seconds for the message to arrive and the message is 38 seconds long.  Ooh, THAT is good news.  I smell a booking for “Xerox”…and that is exactly what it was!

Audition: “KIA” @ Cathi Carlton Casting.  C’mon man!  I am SO, incredibly perfect for this!  I’m expecting to get a call back on this one here!

Bright and early I received the news that I’ve been placed on avail for the “Xerox” spot.  Yay!

Audition: “Dunkin’ Donuts” @ Good People Casting.  I was as good as I could possibly be in this audition while “fake drinking” and thoroughly enjoying a hot cup of coffee…I’ve never had a hot cup of coffee in my life.  Or any type of coffee.  But I faked it like a champ!

Callback: “IBM” @ Dan Bell Casting.  This callback wasn’t anything but “butta”!  Me and my partner got it done!  Actually, my partner was someone I worked with previously at The Standard, Johnny Hawkes.  We totally connected in the room.  Man, I HAVE to be placed on avail or book this one…right?!?!?!

Audition: “IBM” @ Dan Bell Casting.  This was great! I think I’m perfect for it.  I walked out of the room feeling great about how things went.

Callback: “Xerox” @ Cathi Carlton Casting.  Well, parts of this really well, I think, and parts of it were “partly cloudy”.  They had me read for the role I auditioned for originally and also dialogue from a different spot.  The original role/spot went great, but one of the lines from the other spot was a real bit of a tongue twister; certainly not anything that was easy for me to say.  I walked out of the room just shaking my head.

The character called for me to wear business attire…so I wore a suit, since I have 4 new suits.  It’s also common for me to ride my skateboard from my car to the casting office.  I can usually feel the energy change in the room when I walk in with my board.  The visual must be a little confusing, but in an interesting way.  I never make a big deal about my board, but sometimes they ask if I really skate.  Of course I do, no posers here!  I mean, I’m not a “skate rat” by any means, but I can certainly get around.

In the end, I’m not sure how it all added up, but hopefully, I’ll be placed on avail…or booked.
